Kyoko Sekine (Ms) / Hotel Journalist

After studying Art History, specializing in 19th-century Gothic architecture. at West Angers Catholic University in France, Kyoko started her career at tourism information office at Grindelwald, a mountain resort in Switzerland. There, she experienced a life of living in a four-star hotel, where she became fascinated by “hotel life” both as a guest and the inner workings. In 1994, after working as a freelance French-Japanese interpreter, Kyoko stepped into the world of journalism equipped with her global network.

“Hoteliers, Environment and Healing-Spa of hotels in the world” being the her three pillar themes, Kyoko writes on hotels, resorts and inns around the globe, and is a frequent guest speaker and a familiar face at many hotel and spa conventions. Aside from the vast publications in magazines and newspapers, in the recent years, Kyoko has been expanding her role as a business hotel producer, a ryokan advisor, and a hotel consultant.

「ホテルマン、環境問題、スパ」の3テーマを中心に、世界各国でホテル、リゾート、旅館、及び 関係者へのインタビューや取材を慣行。ホテル、スパなどの世界会議に数多く招聘される。雑誌や新聞を中心に執筆し、多数連載を持つ傍ら、近年は、ビジネスホテルのプロデュース、旅館のアドバイザー、ホテルのコンサルタントなど活動の場を広げている。
