KYOKO SEKINE - HOTEL JOURNALIST

ここ7年ほどずっと使っていなかったスーツケースですが､
捨てることにしました！
私と共に地球を何度も旅をした思い出が詰まっているので
捨てられなかったのですが、お気に入りで6年ぐらい愛用しました。
旅の多い私のスーツケースは直ぐに壊れて（壊されて）しまう、消耗品。
日本のように丁寧に荷物を扱ってくれる飛行場は珍しいですから･･･。

今使っているのは､このバッグからもう3代目。
ジャーナリストになって20年目、全5～6本のスーツケースを、
いつも旅の長さによって使い分けています。

Sayonara, See you again!

I decided to let go of my suitcase that I have not used for almost 7 years!
I had used the favorite suitcase regularly for about 6 years and I couldn’t discard it
since it was packed with my memory of travels that I brought it with me all around the world.

I’m a frequent traveler and my suitcases are expendable items
broken easily (or someone brake）.
Airport services rarely handle the baggage so carefully like Japan…

The current one is the third generation from this bag.
It’s been 20 years since I became a journalist and I usually use 5-6 suitcases
depending on the travel time frame.

笑顔が飛び交い、歌が日常に響く、東ティモールの人々の映画です。
上映が始まって直ぐに､
美しくももの悲しい、心にス～ッと入りこんできた歌がありました。
その瞬間から涙が溢れ、殆ど映画の最後までその涙が止まらなかった･･･。
でも、泣いている場合ではない、知らないことは罪だと感じたのです。

平和がいかに大切なものか、心打たれる映画でした。
監督は広田奈津子さん、上映会の司会・朗読は女優の斉藤友子さん。
「東南アジア文化支援プロジェクト」（CAPSEA）の一環です。

今度の上映会は6月27日、｢武蔵野公会堂｣、
是非、皆様もご覧になって欲しいと心から思います！
一般の映画館で上映できたら･･･と願ってやみません。

幼い頃、祖母がよく髪に使っていた“椿油”。
先日、日本の最西端にある五島列島の上五島で発見。
早速自分のためのお土産に買いました！
一番搾りしか使わないカメリア・オイルです。

資生堂の大ヒットシャンプー「TSUBAKI」の
原料も、ここ五島列島出身だそう･･･。

Japanese Excellent Tradition

In my childhood, my grandmother often used Camellia hair care oil
that is called” Tsubaki Abura” in Japanese.
Recently I found that in Kami-Goto of The Goto Islands
that is westernmost point in Japan.
I lost no time in buying this as my own souvenir!
It’s a Camellia oil only using their first squeeze.

It’s said that the raw materials of Shiseido’s blockbuster shampoo
“TSUBAKI” are coming from The Goto Islands…

ゴールデンウィークに行くと人並みはこうなる･･･という風景、
でもこの時期に､ネモヒラの丘は満開になるのです。

茨城県にある｢ひたち海浜公園｣のなだらかな丘は
まるで真夏の富士登山のようですが、
花園の美しさは感動的でした！

The Hills Of Nemophilas

The long line of people on the trail is typically seen
in Golden Week holidays in Japan,
but the nemophilas are in full bloom on the hills
around this holiday season.

The gentle hills in Hitachi Seaside Park of Ibaraki Prefecture
look like midsummer Mt.Fuji that has a lot of hikers,
but the beauty of the flower garden is impressive!

五島列島・上五島のホテル「Margherita」で、
ロビーの片隅に見つけた印象的な動物。
彫刻とは思えないリアリティです。

この集まりを見ていたら
乾いたアフリカのサバンナで見た動物の群れを
想い出しました。

Appeared “Savanna in Africa” in the corner of the Lobby?

In the lobby of the Hotel ‘Margherita’ in Kamigotoh of Gotoh Islands,
found a group of impressive animals.
Looks like real wild animals.

Looking at these wooden sculpture
I remembered a wilderness in Savanna in Africa.
